Trying to remove information from the Internet is like trying to remove pee from a swimming pool.

I'm fully convinced that Hillary Clinton wants us all to vote for John McCain.  Recently in various interviews, Clinton and her top aides have claimed that she was always a critic of the now-unpopular North American Free Trade Agreement.  The agreement put an end to the vast majority of tariffs and fees incurred from transporting goods across the borders of Mexico, the US, and Canada.  Opponents predicted that NAFTA would lead to American jobs going to Mexico, as companies would take advantage of the cheap labor.  Obviously, the opponents were right.

When given the choice between ethical behavior and increasing profit, a corporation will choose profits every time.  That answer is a no-brainer.  Corporations are, in fact, legally obligated to not just maintain, but increase profits.  Hindsight being 20-20, everyone pretty much agrees that NAFTA was a phenomenally stupid idea.  It broke the principles of "Reaganomics" because corporations began using their welfare money to create wealth elsewhere.  But that's not the issue here.

The issue is Clinton's dubious claim that she was an opponent of the agreement "from the very beginning."  It takes a special kind of liar to say something that contradicts an easily-accessible mountain of evidence to the contrary.  Hillary Clinton is a liar, officially, but just what kind of a liar tells lies when she undoubtedly knows she will be exposed by the journalists who covered her support of NAFTA just 15 years ago?  There are only two possible answers:

1.  Hillary Clinton has nothing but contempt for the American people, and feels she can lie right to their faces without consequences.  Such a notion would make sense.  She did sit on the board of Wal-Mart, engaging in union-busting behavior.  Clinton seems to believe that her words can smooth over any past indiscretion, just like her husband believed.  She has tried to smooth-over her initial support of the Iraq War and now her support of NAFTA, but the facts just don't lie.  The sad thing is, people are still falling for it.

2.  Hillary Clinton is a pathological liar.  This physiological explanation also explains quite a bit.  Pathological liars do not lie in order to get out of trouble.  They lie because they can't help it, even when the truth is apparent.  This would be consistent with Senator Clinton's recent statements.

This is the exact kind of behavior that gets Republicans stirred up.  We have had decades of dishonesty in the White House, and now it is obvious that a Clinton White House will only serve to continue this dishonesty.  If she wins the party, I will still vote for her, but only because she is George W. Bush 1.5 and John McCain is George W. Bush 2.0.
